      Sample bad/good questions imho: 'Is X better than Y?" (x) ; 'Good to go for X?' (x) ; 'How would you describe X over Y' (o)

If only upgrades could be put gear on a scale being an upgrade. Something like a harmonic mean, or reference by out peers. Via some null hypothesis. Spider charts seem to be one of our best ways to visualize the data.

@Gazny And even spider charts aren't infallible. Familiarity with how the maker of the chart describes sound, plus familiarity with how that user defines terms is a must.

Apple remote and clones are actually quite common for smaller consumer audio devices. What's annoying is when i try to change the volume on my preamp and it changes the settings on my mac mini.

Kinda unique experience because neither BF2 nor Modius was this nitpicking. With usual settings, too much wraparound and somewhat diffusing. To compensate, I ended up with way more aggressive angles than typically go for.

Does the filter affect this much for you? I find linear (red) to be a little more strong from a center image perspective.

Will check out other filters later (my impression all coming from black one + upsampling to 88.2/96), but didn't think center images any stronger or weaker -- at least with my OB speakers (dual 15in bass + WG-ed compression rivers). Stages more evident to my ears. Much wider than thought + a little too distant than things layered.

Maybe.. but probably not. I'm kinda opting out that thread because I am not qualified. To me things aren't framed that way. Above certain levels, what I liked or didn't like were more associated with product-specific voicing.

For example, I found X26-BF2 rather close (warm, dark, responsive) whereas CV2-X26 and BF2-2541 both quite drastic.

I have been doubting my 2541 order lately as I wait for it to arrive...so your posts over the last 24 hours have been just the affirmation I need. Very excited to try it out. I think it will be just the ticket for my LS3/5A. Now whether I like it more than BF2 with SW51+ and stable of headphones will be the question.

@ChaChaRealSmooth Haha, Verite is also picky at different levels. I often hook up to a couple of Toppings. Rejection severer than I recall for Auteur. lol. Auteur more pickier as approaching to the optimal point.

@Inoculator Looking forward to hearing your impression. I don't think I can go back to any of bifrost, gungnir, or yggdrasil for different reasons respectively, but huge subjective/personal factors kick in.

Yup. All agreed. Real race is not a one time show (such as drag race) but complicated sum of every part of system. And that's often observed in any part of specialized tech areas -- of course including audio.

Anyway naturally aspirated engine must be super obsolete (as per JA) in 2021, and glad to see such a car outperforms something like Tesla by big big margin (1:15 delta in Nordschleife lmfao)
