    As much as I appreciate the HD650 as a reference point, I just can't go back to it for actual listening as long as the ZMFs are with me. I also switched from Lyr3 to MJ3. Still haven't tried HD800/S.

    You really should, but I wouldn’t if you can’t EQ (or maybe get the JAR version?) With EQ they’re awesome if you’re an HD650 fan in general. CC @zonto

    Sorry, I was suggesting if you go for HD800S, make sure to try some EQ. Definitely recommended to tame the treble peaks and give them a bit more low end.

    I have a pair of HD800S on the way actually! (just ordered today) Owned an HD800+SDR back in 2016, but sold them in favor of the Utopia. Figure I should try the HD800S at home and decide if I still want to pursue Utopia synergy or just get rid of them and free myself of the mental turmoil. :)
