Very late response but Try -15ish RMS. Twin guitar rock/metal is great as they have two hard panned L and R rhythm guitars with almost always with one of them taking over the leads or the lead being another tracked guitar somewhere else. It's very easy to pick out major presence region flaws or artificially wide staging, especially with a panned tom roll sounding uneven. Moving forward means shout in the presence region places certain parts closer than they should be.

"Quality" has too many variables. Better would be another "Size" vs "Accuracy" chart with accuracy being fidelity of spatial cues and panning. Layering/depth would be better under "Size" due to boosted upper treble = false detail = the detail the driver is providing into the recording being more forwardly presented than it should be including spatial cues.

There for example, the HD 800 would be at the top for size but the HD 600/650 would be all the way to the right for accuracy while the HD 800 wouldn't due to it's housing reflections. The AKG K7XX would be near the top (around the K702) for size but nowhere close to HD 6XX and left of the K702 for accuracy. On ears like the HD 25 and 280 that place cymbals strangely would be almost all the way to the left. I should make this chart.

You should make this chart. I'd be interested in seeing it.

It's awesome to see the ESP/950's hanging with the greats! I expect nothing less from Ojneg. Not gonna nag you about trying my mods to them... totally not going to do that...

I still think I'm a noob but places like SBAF helped make my little audio odyssey a lot more straightforward than it could have been. My little HD 800 setup and my Adams tie for my most prized possessions. Thanks all.

These are so helpful! Please, please somebody do one for IEMs.

Seeing a few headphones I've heard laid out in a way that matches my impressions really provides useful context for the ones I haven't heard.

See, my problem with these is that I don't have a chart. I have a goddamn sticker book, and I'm trying to collect them all...
