Focal Elear and Utopia Impressions at Source AV

Doubtful given the shipment delay, but any impressions with the Elear on a Torpedo III? Custom searches didn't bring up any hits.

 

I think that the Elear at it's price point and given Tyll's level of excitement will be good for the hobby. I'd like to see the price/perfomance ratio improve for those of us who don't have very deep pockets. Even the Elear is a little heavy for me on extended use, I'd still probably grab it if the reviews are a homerun.

 

Yup. The diminishing returns curve just got re-writ with the Elear.

 

This. After some good hands-on time, I seriously may dump my Lcd-2f for these. They're impressive as hell sonically, and built like a tank. Looking forward to the review!

That comparison leads me to believe that the Elear could be the end-game headphone I'm looking for and a good alternative to my Alpha Dogs... (open & dynamic, VS closed & planar). The HD650 is still tempting but I'll be following this thread hoping to see some experienced posters chime in on the 6X0 vs Elear.
