Thoughts on gungnir A2 warmup time ? I can definitely tell on cold start but not sure how long to fully stabilize. I'd say a couple days...

Not a shitpost: I just have a hard time wrapping my brain around a three week warmup. Letting my tubes warm up for ten minutes feels like half a forever.

Finally received fresh 800 pads, and can directly compare to the Utopia. Not sure I'll ever conclude which I like better, maybe that's ok

out of curiosity where did you get your fresh hd800 pads from? I've been looking for them but they seem to be out of stock/backordered indefinitely everywhere I look

@pure5152 yeah they've been OOS for a year, Senn says it's because they moved manu to Ireland but I'm skeptical they're coming back. After some research I got the Geekria velour third party ones, they are on eBay and also aliexpress I think. The material feels a little different but the form and dimensions are identical and they sound the same as Senn's

@kirayamato it's a pci card, to a little sescom transformer, to bnc, to Gungnir Multibit. Same as Marv first post in the Lynx thread. Different than the Jensen isobox for analog (to be clear)

I remember getting my first CIEM fit in 2009 and had to call around. The audiologist that ended up doing the impression charged $20 and was more in awe at the concept of a CIEM than anything.

Someone should write up an analysis of the lightning pace of planar product lifecycles compared to dynamic, cause/effect etc. I'm guessing relatively small size of the planar companies operations has something to do with it, and of course the end result is debatable (poopoo QC, money grab).

Nothing crazy, anticipating needing a little boost on the 4670k when the GTX1080 arrives, so getting started early. The GTX 970 had a good run, even stock at 1080p and 1440p, but struggles with this newish 3440x1440 ultrawide

I have a 4K monitor (huge waste of money), so I'm golfing out to the 1080ti or the Titan. I'm on the x99 platform, so my chips are slow compared to yours at stock frequencies. I burned out my old Mobo trying to get 4 ghz

That's a bummer, thanks for the warning. Yeah I felt 21:9 1440p ultrawide was a good sweetspot, and looks really cool for the games that support it. Plus the length is nice for productivity. We'll see if this haswell i5 can keep up with the gtx1080...

We lost several ETHERs this way. It's not enough to cause us huge harm, but it really does hurt to be taken advantage of, and of course as a small company even a few thefts of this size are pretty bad."

Yup acting funny for a few days and took out a lisst. Left channel got crackling sounds sometimes then it finally got incredibly hot and either blew out the tubes or just shut itself down. Unsure which, didn't want to turn it back on after the that

Yup I have, submitted my ticket, got the RA number and just dropped it off at UPS. Did the same a couple days earlier for the single LISST blow out, which likely was related in retorospect. Haven't heard back from a real person so idk if that's true or not. It was wild, it would have freaked me the heck out if it wasn't acting up for a couple days leading up to it. Still love them, as long as this goes well
