**please see a few posts down, this may be up for loaner consideration**

Snagged this one off of luckbad earlier this year, great guy to deal with! According to Luckbad most of these did not seem to have the AES/EBU input.

Condition is excellent, only blemish I can find is the top right corner of the gold face seems to have a factory finish imperfection; in certain light it is a shade brighter. Other things of note, the gold stickers on the ultra analog modules are not very sticky anymore so they tend to curl up, you may just want to remove them. The factory feet are awful so I put adhesive rubber feet on the feet to make it a little more stable. The DAC also has a warmup timer of about 45 seconds so don't freak out when you don't hear anything after turning it on.

    Ultra Analog da20400/AES21

    Inputs: Coax/AES-EBU/ST Optical

Installed tubes - Reflektor 6h23eb from PCX, including a set of Voshkod rocket 6h23-eb which are smoother sounding

The SFD1mkII imo sounds nothing like modern DACs, even Gungnir Multibit is not really in the same type of sound. The SF dac is warm and dense, it is great at detail retrieval and provides a natural non-fatiguing sound excellent for your less than perfectly mastered material. Gungnir Multibit draws more detail but is noticeably more forward in the way it presents this. Rolling tubes can possibly get you better performance but in my limited experience it doesn't respond the same way an amp would with tube changes. Use the included Voshkod rocket tubes if your amp/transducer is on the forward or brighter side.

I am asking $750 shipped conus, I can absorb the pp fee. Paypal personal payment is always welcome but not required.

Oh shit. Someone buy this before I do. For those who find the Schiit DACs too analytical, buy this instead of the lower end or older generation Metrum DACs or any of the AGD PCM1704 DACs. Those headphone listeners who bitch about the stage being too close should consider this too.

It's heavy as sin so personally I wouldn't recommend it.

Hmm. but it would be cheap to insure. @Merrick, put a poll. Yes / No.

Considering that these DACs are still being supported by pcx, might be worthwhile. Hahaha maybe rotational SBAF Friend ownership?

I can't add a poll to this thread, but I could start a new thread or suggest this in the existing loaner ideas thread.

Nice. If I didn't already have a Theta Gen Va I'd be tempted.

If no on pmed you & the loaner doesn't go through, I'll take it.

I have several dacs & I just want to know if a tube in the chain of one will really make a difference, otherwise I would sell it back on SBAF.
