I asked Brannan about lead time. He said 2-3 weeks on universals.

I currently have the HEM4 and the Savants. I am really thinking about giving the Savanna a try. The Wizard Birthday Sale "should" be coming up.

I checked Twitter and last year it was July 1st, and announced a few days before. 15% off. Also considering a Uni Savannah for the birthday sale

I'm waiting for the birthday sale as well for a Savanna. I wonder if the discount will still be 15% considering the back orders and production shortages. I'm worried this year there won't be a discount on Universals, unless they planned to be fully stocked in Universals by the end of this month.

Noble will accept backorders. I don't think they will be caught up. If anything, a potential birthday sale will increase delays.

Great info. So far things seem look pretty good for the Savanna. N4 is my main IEM right now and a smoother treble plus a little more bass presence is greatly welcomed to make these a little warmer. The peaky treble is really the only con I have for the N4, everything else is pretty much perfect for me. As long as they fixed that and kept everything else pretty much similar or improved, they'll be the ultimate solution for my basic IEM needs.

I also asked about the birthday sale. He said that it has been a tradition and will more than likely continue.

    What's the bday discount normally?

I'm still eyeing the Dulce. I did just pick-up a new tralucent iem, the Plus 5. I'm absolutely loving it. 5 ba driver, definitely one of the best IEMS I've heard, if not the best.

After summiting the IEM world a few times (and coming back down again ;)) N4 remains to be one of my favourites. I sold my K10 before N4. If I wasn't buying Andromeda I would definitely be interested to hear what Savannah has to offer.

If you're ever looking for an affordable CIEM, UE4 fulfils the improvements to N4 that you are looking for...

@The Life I take it you are still enjoying the Dulce? Any further impressions?

    Yep. Still loving them.

A little story: when I got my K10 a year and a half ago, the fit was good, but not perfect. However, because of how much I loved them, I refused to send them back for a refit. I bought and demoed several IEMs in the interim and nothing could get me to let go of the K10s for an hour, let alone the time it would take to get a refit.

Cut to last week when, after a couple of weeks of the Dulce, I packed up my K10s and shipped them to Noble to get them refit. A week now and I haven't missed my K10s.

Nice. Speaks volumes as to how much you like them. Can you compare the bass to some other IEMs? I think I asked already at head-fi, but not sure.

Given the fact that the K10 and the andromeda are the only other IEMs that have earned significant ear time from me over the last few months, they are the only ones I can compare the Dulce's to with any level of depth.

I think all three have bass that is perfect for the purposes they are designed for (andromeda = neutral and balanced, K10 + musical and emotional, Dulce = Basshead paradise). The andromeda's bass is quick and strong but accurate and in line with the rest of the frequencies. The K10 has a mid-bass emphasis but with a very quick decay. This means that, in practice, the bass sneaks up on you and hits with authority but disappears just as quickly. The Dulce has a very strong emphasis in the Sub-bass with a much slower decay in the mid-bass (relative to the K10). In practice, this means that on bassy tracks, the bass hits fast and hard in the sub-bass followed by a slow decay of the mid-bass. )This is why I said previously that the Dulce's bass sounds like a DD). On otherwise non-bassy tracks, the Dulce tips up the sub-bass but more or less leaves the mid-bass alone.

I recently snagged a N6 in a trade for my savant. I'm really enjoying the older N6.

The N4 really are something special. I hoping the Savanna will just be a more refined N4 with a more linear response in the upper mids/lower treble. My plan is to buy a Savanna, compare it with the N4, and keep whatever I prefer. So far, I'm getting the impression it's going to be much smoother up top and slightly weightier down low. If that's the case, then it will be much more versatile for my music tastes and I may prefer them.

I'll def look into the UE4. Is it pretty neutral and smooth?

If you could only choose one of these, which would you choose? If there is a Noble birthday sale, I am tempted to cancel my order for the andromedas and get a pair of K10Us.

Well, I already sold the Andromedas not too long after I got the Dulces so my preference in that combination is easy to guess.

Between the Dulce's and the K10s is a harder choice. The K10s are more versatile and can play any genre I throw at it excellently. The Dulce is less versatile (though more versatile than I thought they would be before I got them) but the genres that the Dulces absofuckinlutely slays (Rap, Grime) are are also the genres I listen to the most. Another consideration for me, though irrelevant to anyone else, is that my Wizard-designed Dulces (my avatar) look better than my personal design K10s.

Long story short, if I was recommending one of them to almost anyone, I would recommend the K10s because I know they will be happy no matter what. But, if I, with my current library and the current designs of my two IEMs, had to pick one, I'd go with the Dulce's by a hairs breadth.

This kind of question is very common in audio forums, but it always makes me scratch my head a little.

The Andro and K10 are differently tuned earphones.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO HEAR?

If you don't know that, then buy some cheaper earphones and figure it out.

Without knowing yourself, what other people tell you won't matter.

I've heard both and have both at hand at the moment, but what I like doesn't help you at all!

The K10 is warm and thick, non-fatiguing, yet keeps good clarity while the andro is brighter, less bassy, less warm, more neutral also with very good clarity. Both are great.

To quote the great audiophile Sun Tzu, "If you know yourself and know the earphone, in 100 purchases you need never fear a disaster. If you know yourself and don't know the earphone, for every victory, you will have one defeat. If you know neither yourself nor the earphone, then you are always boned, might as well buy hyped chifi crap, loser."
