    Listening to The Pixies - Surfer Rosa on a pretty good headphone system is what justified this hobby for me. It’s an album I listened to hundreds of times in the car or on a mini CD player while high school age. I never realized how much more information was on that album until I heard it with the HD 650 years later. I have so much more appreciation for the work he did to retain as much as he could

    While I don’t think he would ever refer to himself as an audiophile, his recording philosophy was basically to capture as close as possible to what the band sounds like live. It’s the work of a documentarian
