I would hope that Jason would want to pick one up too. We won't count on Sennheiser, but it would be awesome if the Germans could show some sense of humor.

    I gotta pile on the UERM love boat. Forget best IEM... more like a serious contender for best amongst all headphones/iems.

    It even scales super well and is stupidly good out of Rag/Yggdrasil.

    To me, these are the winners:

    Headphones - AKG K702
    Universal player/DAC - Oppo105
    Amplifier - Feliks Audio Elise

    I realize that most everyone here has never heard the Elise and may have some exposure to the 105. The K702 is a polarizing headphone, but one I would choose over every one I've heard/owned including the HD6X0 series (ducking). This being said, I have little doubt that if folks had a chance to fully audition the Elise, they'd be more than impressed.

    I've had a chance to hear the Oppo 105 and it's among boring DACs I've ever heard. I'd give this a limp award, nothing proud about it.

    OTOH, it's the best digital I've ever heard in 30+ years in this hobby and the only machine of its type to compete with my turntable. What else have I heard? Having spent ~15 years working in the high-performance industry, a whole lot. In my own system. It's great that you had a chance to hear the 105. Somewhere. Certainly sounds like a fully encompassing audition. Life goes on.

    Stick it in a computer, play it with foobar or something, output to an external DAC with ASIO or an equivalent will be better than 99% of CD players. Do you think Oppo cares that much about their DAC implementation? Not really.
