It's a well made case but is 100% way overpriced at $175.

 

That's good to know... I assumed at 175 they had to be well made to even attempt to justify that (or half of that). I just ordered one and debated ordering a couple more... but stopped myself

 

Don't let me dissuade you, at $39 they are amazing.

 

Seconding the recommendation, these are really good cases, I don't need one but grabbed it anyways.

 

Free shipping, within the USA only i presume. I got 79.53 dollars to Europe, in case any other European is wondering.

 

Abyss 1266 replica for around $1k and Diana Phi $646 (possibly refurbished b stock or clone?) on Aliexp. There's a $50usd off coupon now (04CD50). I have recently received both pairs. The 1266 high quality clone looks brand new and I feel built quality is just like the Phi TC I've auditioned at Canjam. What's really suprising is the sound quality is actually very close to the Phi TC. Clone is highly resolving with excellent transparency, airy with really good soundstaging. Upon examining the Diana Phi, it looks like it's used with some minor dings here and there. Looks like it's been refurbished. Diana Phi doesn't look like or feel like a clone at all and looks original. Not sure where they got the stock from but the sound is also very close to the Dianas I've heard at headphone stores.
Will post pictures later. Both doesn't come with any original packaging but just wrapped in plastic film and bubble wrapped in a cardboard box.

interesting.. though.. I'm not sure how great I'd feel about purchasing something like this.. even if the Abyss guys are clowns and their stuff is way overpriced, it's their prerogative to charge whatever they feel like. I don't think their ridiculous pricing makes it okay for others to rip them off.

 

Similar to the response when I pointed out a Violectric V281 clone which was available a couple/few years ago on eBay.

With that amp, I could easily imagine they opened the case, made a BOM and truly cloned it.

With these headphones? Can you get the same driver used in a Diana or 1266, or have they just used something ... similar?

Anyway, 1266 clone seems to be gone, not that I would have bought one anyway -- didn't buy the 281 clone either after my very public shaming (over on HF)

 

I'm pretty sure at this point, they have cloned everything on the market.
