What can I do with an old tablet or smartphone?

    When computers age and get replaced, I still manage to find uses for them as servers or some sort of specialized use. I can't really figure out what I can do with old tablets besides just recycling them. Anyone here have some ideas?

    A few things I can think of but don't know if they have been implemented:

    dedicated media center remote control

    making one into a remote terminal

    use as a screen for a mini computer

    Definitely roon remote. I have a Kindle HDX, iPad, iPhone and a HP Stream 7 all as roon remotes around the house. It was great to re-use the old tablets that function perfectly in this role.
