    Friends...

I have a pair of HD-800's that I'd like to keep within our community. I purchased them from @Mban last year for $1300CAD; he had custom hard-wired a new cable on them. Also did the Anax mod on them... I heard them on his Bottlehead Mainline with Mundorf caps and they sounded beautiful.

I'll take some pics, and get some info on the cable job. It's braided nicely, with a 4 pin XLR connector. I will also include a balanced to SE adapter.

These would be either shipped from Canada, or I can also bring them down to the meet in Nov, and/or ship within the USA from there.

Friends, feel free to make me an offer. I'm open to trades as well... I would just really like these to go to someone who is a part of our community!

    Hi all,
The cable is made with 7N UP-OCC copper cable (24AWG conductors) and both the cable and the XLR connector were deep cryo treated. The cable has been directly hardwired to the drivers, thereby bypassing two small solder joints and the tiny removable connector pins that are normally on HD800 (eliminates three additional connection points per conductor). The cable has 8 wires total - 2 wires per polarity, per channel.

This copper cable gave a slightly warmer overall tone to the HD800 than stock, and combined with the modified anax mod makes these HD800's slightly warmer and more listenable for most material, while still retaining the HD800's technical abilities (I'd still suggest the SuperDupont mod/other SBAF mods after trying out the current setup if you are more inclined towards HD650 warmth).

    Cheers,
    Mban

Thanks very much for the info @Mban! Just took some pics, and hopefully they upload fine. The cord is at least 6' long, probably closer to 8' or so.

I'm not a great photographer, so if anyone wants a better pic, just ask. :)

Bump. Heading to work until Oct 26th... I can ship it when I'm home, or bring it down to LA with me for the meet in November. You can pick it up there if you prefer.

~$700 range seems like a reasonable deal.
