Indeed, although I'm a bit of a climb junkie myself. Singlespeeding, bikepacking, long distance racing ("ultra" but that word sucks) nerd here. Be warned, bikes can be even more a money pit than audio gear!

Interesting. I've always been a runner, but I got addicted to the spin classes after trying them out. Since it's cold here, I enjoy the virtual ride at the gym on the big screen too. The only thing better would be wearing a VR helmet or something...

Welcome to the thing you will do once your knees get fucked up from running! The only thing I like better than a spin class in the winter, is being on my own bike on a decent trainer in front of the giant TV in my own basement.

Judeus strikes again. Selling my Jot and he lowballs me on CAM as "GearEnthusiast". Beware of this POS.

I was just shocked he's still around. Apparently he moved to Ontario now(?) The weird thing was that he messaged me on HF in the last 3 months asking for some info re: Gungnir upgrading with Schiit. I helped him out and then today he's flipping out in emails, calling me some crazy rude names. Lol... He's insane.

After what happened to Delayeed, I checked the HF scammer page, and Judeus is on there with multiple aliases. Same pattern.

As a youngster I was goaded into singing "Rasputin" every time I went to karaoke with friends (several times a week). It kind of morphed into my theme song. My Mom is Russian, lol

Oakville is actually kinda nice. The brick and mortar store wasn't bad either. Dude publishes an audio magazine which basically just sells a bunch of ads, but he was fairly knowledgable. The Devialet stuff is for the lulz mostly because of the price. Also, I'd rather just hear real speakers than all of these silly wireless gadgets.

We do have a Bose Soundtouch at home, mostly to tune into CBC radio and catch up on news/current events in the morning, or (kind of) easily stream FLAC from the DLNA. Bose is overpriced as well, but Devialet is hilariously expensive. Explains why my beer was $9...

That's getting out my way, about another 1.5 to 2 hours more east. All of our snow has melted this week, it's still fairly cool though, stays right around 0*.

I found with cold Yggy it isn't even just that the staging is imprecise - it's precise but incorrect, things pan to actually the wrong place.

Yes I have. This guy likes the Etna. I think the table and Harbeth speakers I heard with it yesterday tend to be warm. And the phono section is a total unknown to me. But imaging and staging was spectacular, and dynamics were there. Listened to the PG Us album, and bass impact on Digging In The Dirt was impressive. Could have sat there listening all night.

Thom Yorke's voice is basically an instrument of its own. Any recommendations for similar sounding vocals? Been on a huge Radiohead kick...

Apart from the already mentioned, try these:

        The Antlers (Familiars, Burst Apart)
        Wild Beasts (Two Dancers, Smother)
Patrick Watson (Love Songs for Robots)
        Bon Iver (Bon Iver)
        Shearwater (Rook, The Golden Archipelago)

And out of the older stuff I know, maybe The Associates and Suede.

I don't want to live in fear, and won't. I'm here for all of my friends and will always let them know that I'm glad we're a part of each other's lives. It's the best way to live, regardless of what is going on. I will always stand for humanity, which includes treating others with thoughtful care, and nothing can change that.
