They sounded like ass for the first few hours. But I kinda like them now. They don't have much for bass, but I guess I've fallen for the convenience factor of the wireless. They almost sound like they have some sort of cross feed. For the office they're not too bad.
Foster has been supplying drivers to Apple for a few years now. According to an insider on Discord, AirPods have a Foster Bio-Cellulose driver. I think mine sound pretty good.
I use mine at the gym and occasionally at work. The ease of use is amazing. I’ve always found Apple earbuds to have a mid-centric/bass-light sound, easy to digest. No complaints for casual/utilitarian listening
While lacking in proper sub-and-midbass, the upper end of it is punchy enough to serve well for modern pop. There's a bit of sizzle I detect in the treble, but far from very bothersome. Foster drivers would kinda explain that haha. Oddly I think of them as u shaped more than n. Could be deaf.
And yeah, no one's buying them for SQ I hope. It's mostly for convenience/laziness :P
Yeah the convenience factor is nice. Now I can get up from my desk and move around a bit without losing connection or ripping a cord out of an amp. I guess I'm really just surprised that they're listenable.
convenience is great, short term listening to some new track. ok. said it before- quality of AirPods is acceptable for telecons and talk radio. shove a CA Polaris w/ Lightning cable into an iPhone for obvious improvement.
I’m not really an IEM guy. I have an ancient pair of Etymotic ER-4Ps that I use on the mower underneath hearing protection. But they get get itchy after a while and then I need a good hillbilly ear dig.
