Which is why I stay off of the first thing you see on cnn.com and TV when you get up in the morning.

Yet you're actively participating and shitting up a thread on a subject you hate, jog on pal.

Wow, someone had a bad hormonal imbalance day.

Saw the BBC doc "David Bowie - Five Years". Good stuff.

Yes, but this thread would have never existed, and so I would have never entered it, if the media didn't shove David Bowie down our throats. That's the root cause.

No, it's because we're on a site that primarily discusses audio and we f'ing enjoy David Bowie's music. Are you daft?

Musicians die every day. I think what happened here is that you turned on the news, accepted the media's order to care and be sad about this, which caused you to want to talk about it.

Root cause? This isn't some random musician that died. This thread is for anyone that has enjoyed David Bowie's music for the last freaking 54 years. This thread is a testament of that, nobody here cares about the news outlets, we're merely discussing the loss and the musical legacy he left behind.

I am just a dumb founded that Lemmy, Natalie Cole and Otis Clay died within 4 weeks time, but none of them had the same legacy. Not sure why this cynicism is at all needed.

Ah so like David Bowie? Who produced, composed, engineered and wrote music for himself and many other artists?

Seriously if you don't like it, don't click on the thread, nobody forced you to click on this thread, there was no one that started a conversation with you asking you to read this thread.

Except that you decided on your own to barge in and impose that we're being fed by the media to like an artist that has been doing his thing for 54 years. Which is uncalled for and outright ridiculous for no other purpose than baiting.

No. No one is telling you what to think.

This is so blatantly, intentionally antagonistic, that I can only conclude that you are a troll.

PSA - please don't feed this troll.

    EDIT: cross-posted w/Merrick LOL

Have you all considered the possibility that the media might be the troll, trolling you every morning?

You know, I came to this thread feeling all bummed out about Ziggy's death, and I got a good laugh instead! Sometimes even trolls can help by accident.

I like to think Bowie would be glad with this outcome, but I am pretty sure he is involved in some mind-blowing orgy in the stars right now, and doesn't actually care. Good on him.

Ziggy Stardust was a brilliant concept/alter-ego. "The Rise and Fall..." is genius.
