Tvnews told me Bowie, Beatles & Queen are the most holy-good singer(s) in England.

Though I've never listened to him much, this really shocked me.

Nirvana's (not a fan) best song wasn't even their's, and also inferior to the original in every way :p :

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars has been on repeat all day. Going to burn it into my kids heads that he was important even if it drives me insane.

Bowie is my favorite artist. This news has hit me very hard. My vinyl copy of Blackstar coincidentally arrived today. I've been listening to it knowing that Bowie intended it as an epitaph. It's haunting. But it also ends on a lighter note. I think Bowie knew it was important not to end things on a dark note.

Hit me hard as well when I saw the news this morning. Definitely going to listen to the new album as soon as I can. Bowie was one of the coolest, if not THE coolest, rock stars of all time. And his music was awesome! R.I.P., Ziggy Stardust!

As a young uncertain teenager a best of compilation of David Bowie music taught me that being weird is okay. If anything, regardless of what you may criticise of David Bowie I shall always remember this.

f**k it, you are weird and you make the best of it. Enjoy it and live your life.

Right now I am listening to the album "Low." It is moody with a glimpse of hope. The melancholy of this album is beyond my words. Now back to music...

I was actually thinking of his weird eyes yesterday morning. Ashes to Ashes never gets old

I'm really glad that I heard it and liked the album before knowing that it would be Bowie's last. I thought to myself that I had to be sure to listen to his next albums because this one surprised me. I listened to Blackstar a few times and was confirming that I wanted to recommend it. Some of the lyrics seemed really intimate and personal, I wanted to read them online as I was either working or at the gym when listening.

Guess now my reading of the lyrics may be changed knowing what he was going through but I appreciated the album for the music and I think he would have wanted it that way as an artist. (Not saying that it impacted your experience negatively, Merrick... Thanks for sharing.)

I wasn't really a fan, but he was such a great singer and sadly another legend goes away.

    RIP

Loaded up the day with a Bowie playlist - brought back quite a few memories.

Listening to David Bowie's song "Lazarus" via Tidal now, from his final album Blackstar (released two days before he died).

Oh, I listened to it the moment it was available on Spotify. Great album made only more poignant now.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/cel...ift-for-fans-in-carefully-planned-finale.html

"David Bowie’s final record was a carefully-orchestrated farewell to his fans, his producer has confirmed. Lazarus, released on the Bowie’s 69th birthday just two days before his death, opens with the lyrics: 'Look up here, I’m in Heaven!'"

Looks like he planned Blackstar all along. I can't even imagine knowing my death well enough to give one last thing like he did. Remarkable.

Because they don't care about you. I don't care about you either.
