There is no effect at this point, and none anticipated unless UPS or Fedex stop delivering!

    Cheers,
    Michael

As I mentioned we are not directly affected by the corona virus. However, we were delayed getting some parts out of China when the virus first hit there (on top of the usual Chinese New Year delays). So we are a few weeks behind right now and working hard to catch up. Please accept our apologies for these delays.

Got it set up pretty easily yesterday. Initial (placebo) impressions comparing rPi Zero USB vs. PI2AES S/PDIF > Bifrost 2 > SW51+ > Focal Clear.

Increase in clarity & detail, like a slight veil lifted. Slightly more open stage, tighter imaging. Oomphier bass, I had to make sure the EQ was off. Not sure I could blind A/B them, but I'm happy to be able to hear a difference.

I have just received the Pi2AES and I am impressed with its performance. Very good job Michael.

Thanks also for this topic members. The hints were important to my decision to buy the Pi2AES.

It looks like we may have to do another revision to switch to the surface mount versions of the audio transformers. Same exact part just with surface mount pins. For some reason the through hole versions are becoming very difficult to get.

I am also looking at adding a jumper to reduce the led brightness. Some folks complained that the unit lights up like a Christmas tree! Apparently some of you are just a bunch of Scrooges! ;)

    Any other suggestions?

    Michael

@Michael Kelly that guy is a troll don't listen to him. :p

Make it a lot less brighter. GF didn't like when I had it on my bedroom. Also, it is really a Christmas Tree. Lower LED brightness = A win for me.

Give us the option to program the LEDs (like some of the fancy keyboards out there). Strobe, waterfall, pulsing colors... all timed with the music.

@Michael Kelly both acrylic cases in the shop say they're for pi 2/3 only.

I know the AES case supports the 4, but what about the 502DAC? I need another endpoint, one that doesn't really deserve an AES but its wifi only.

That is correct. The original 502DAC and the PI2AES cases were both done for me by somebody else and I no longer have access to the source files. I redesigned the PI2AES but have not done so for the 502DAC. So far you are the second person who has asked me to do so. So I will work on that over the next couple of days and have it in the store for sale by mid week. For low volumes I do the cutting on a benchtop laser cutter that I have here. When it gets to higher volume will move it off, though I do not expect to 502DAC to ever get there.

I am also just about ready to start selling the 7 inch LCD case.

    Cheers,
    Michael

I have finished the 502DAC case design to allow both PI 2/3 and 4 support. All new case orders will be for this new version. Please note, I did not peel the paper off because, yes, I am that lazy!
