The tuner worked the last time it was used. You pay for shipping or pick up locally.
I would guess that shipping within say 500 miles would be around $15-20, all the way to the west coast would be $25-30 max.

Someone in NY should pick this up for the odd FM simulcast of live classical performances. FM can be surprisingly good quality for live music.

FM sounds way better than most people know or would believe. you have to be fortunate enough to live in a metropolitan area with good receptions to stations that still put out quality programming, and unfortunately these days there is more advertising than programming for the stations to stay afloat. I use a McIntosh MR-67 to listen to Classical 96.3 here in Toronto frequently

This is a pretty good tuner especially for the low low price of $0. for those not familiar with the Proton brand their stuff was manufactured by the same OEM that did NAD equipment in the 80s

Tempting offer for an old tuner whore like me but I've 3 in house now, only 2 of which get any use.
The Schotz circuitry in your Proton is great for those who can't/won't put up a proper antenna , even with a simple cheap dipole it really increases the number of listenable FM stations in any location. I use an Audio Dynamics T200 Schotz tuner in my bedroom rig with a Terk antenna, sounds great for the local NPR nightly jazz programs.
Somebody should jump on this kind offer, makes me sad that so many people now have no idea how good FM can sound.

If you don't want a dipole hanging on your wall and coax cable to a roof type antenna isn't feasible, go to HiFiShark and look for BIC Beam Box or BIC antenna. It was an indoor antenna, that I think was supposed to work quite well, but maybe do a little Google research on that first. They probably sold for $200 new, but can be bought for $25-30 used now.

Yeah, I purchased it new around 1986. At the time, Proton was producing little Walkman sized FM receivers that had amazing sensitivity. You could pick up WAAF in Worcester, clearly, from the Hartford area, which wasn't possible on most gear.
