@m17xr2b yes 45s with an 80. it can also accept 2A3s with a 5Z3.

The toolshed guy is into Klipsch and apparently gave some feedback to Steve Jain during development of the HP-3. He has recommended it to me heavily so I plan on getting a pair to check out.

As for the JAR I do have a stock pair to compare it to but haven't gotten around to it yet. Will do so for the sake of science once the amp is broken in.

Is Stratus really that much better than EC to your liking? I mean, Stratus with a customized set of tubes is definitely endgame material (loving mine) but Afficionado or ZDS should probably be too...?

@Magnetostatic_Tubephile ZDS was definitely not my thing but I can see how some people will like it. I think Stratus is one rung above ZDS in both design and performance. AF I will not comment on.

@BillOhio it came with Shuguang 2A3B which aren't bad for $100/pr but sound crude next to NOS Miniwatt 2A3s. Looking at the possibility of obtaining EML or AVVT.
