    From the site:
    Power Consumption: 50W typical

The cost depends on where you live and time of year. I'm interested in it being a room heater in the winter.

Edit: Clemmaster beat me to it

I assume 50W is constant... idle or running? (class A - this technical/electrical stuff is over my head)

If so, only about $6.50/mth to run 24/7. Less that I thought. Not sure that 50W is much of a space heater ;)

@schiit If I can play Edward Teller for a moment, is it in theory possible to take the MJ3 design and port it to the Ragnarok-sized chassis with its massive heatsinks, and then just scale up everything you've got like chokes or whatever to fill all that space and just do more of whatever worked without concern for heat or chassis real estate restrictions? It doesn't even need to power speakers, just let it facilitate headphones.

I haven't had a chance to put together my stream of consciousness/first impressions into a single post yet, but I'll say this.. Bifrost 2 OG, balanced into MJ3, balanced into Focal Clear was really really good.. on some levels maybe the most alive & edgy/sharp/biting without being "extra" that I have heard with the Clears.

I need to dig into the bass a bit more for this combo by trying different recordings. Its likely a flavor/preference, but lower bass could be a bit phat/fat, and not as tight or fast as some people like.... again, flavor..I listened primarily to 70s/80s.rock while first listening to this pairing and and it sounded more like what the sign for "square root" looks like..elevated/fat bass, mids downturned a bit, and treble high and detailed.

I wouldnt want EQ for many types.of rock, I'd want EQ for other stuff to tighten up the bass...

I did listen to Elegant Gypsy with this setup and thought it was magical, but that recording doesn't have fat V or U shaped pop/rock bass sounds in it...

How long before we get back to modding MJ1 with better caps as an excellent and much lower cost alternative?

too much praise in to short of time? So it has to be a fad or flavor of the month?

Don't worry... MJ3 will suck in a few years when MJ4 is released. Remember, anything that isn't new is very uncool and should be avoided. Until it becomes vintage, then it's cool again.

I'm so glad I don't subscribe to that life train of thought...

Anyone put this against the Holo Bliss? It sounds like it may be close for 1/3 the cost? If anyone in West Michigan has a Mjolnir 3, I have the Bliss so we can compare. I love my Holo candy and all of the previous Schiit headamps have not been for me. But of course I find myself intrigued again for FOMO.

Would be very interested in hearing impressions of the Bliss vs MJ3. The Bliss was on my SS amp want list, but MJ3 seems to be extremely well received and is cheaper.

I’m also seriously finding any opportunities to compare bliss and MJ3 myself — as I am having the non-kte bliss sitting around me. I largely agree with the review linked above for the bliss part (I may express in a little more different nuance tho). A full review pending, but it almost feels like an ultimate evolution of Chinese measurement-first amplifiers (I’d not list specific MFR names but you may know..). Maximize their strengths, almost clean up all the sh**ty issues, and exaggerate spatiality beyond usual SS-limit. Then that’s how Bliss sounds to me in general. A very modern hi-fi sound done right with some hints of analytical characters and controlled engagements. And for this reason I basically doubt if the bliss gets much love in this forum, particularly given the facepalming msrp for SS.

Based on all the early impressions in this thread, I don't quite think Bliss and MJ3 can replace each other although I can imagine certain performance similarities. They're likely to appeal different taste groups. All my conjectures.. and I'd like to verify this hypothesis myself.

PS. Spring3-Bliss-Caldera is the most optimal combo for my taste to date. Curious to see what MJ3 will bring to the table.

Isn't part of the appeal with the Bliss that it can drive everything up to and including the Susvara?

We've seen a couple reports on here that the HE6(SE) sounds good from the MJ3, but I don't think I've seen any direct Sus tests. I guess, if I'm buying a solid-state amp these days, I want to know if it can do justice to the HFM big boy. I know it's not popular on here, but I like the Sus plenty.

I'm going to be direct AB'ing the Enleum Amp-23R and Ferrum stack in a couple weeks. Should be interesting.

A lot of solid-state amps sound pretty similar to me. I guess I distinguish/rank them by ultimate clarity, if they have any sense of depth, and whether they sound okay to good on the top end.

Gonna make this clear. None of these headphones are hard to drive nor do they require specialty power amps. The only planar that would fit into this "hard to drive" category is the OG HE6, of which I do not have one on hand, and therefore did not list it above. Most decent amps out there will work with the above. For each one of the above headphones, I'd take my flea powered custom 4x45 SET amp over all existing four to five figure SS amps "marketed" to do "hard to do planars" justice. It's what you like that matters the most. Speshal amps marketed to do these speshal planars justice are not required to get them to their potential.

Yeah, I saw that comparison. Thus far, it's just the one guy (I assume) who's heard the Susvara through the MJ3. Handle is newToAudio100. Seems to have some nice gear, but I'll likely wait for more data points. Still interested in the MJ3.

    Too cheap, therefore too accessible.

P.S. Anyone want to buy a Studio B?
