Cats outside at 5am on Monday morning. Mother, two youngsters. Attacked by pack of five dogs. Female kitten got away. Male kitten has two bite wounds, one of which has damaged leg muscle. Mother roughed up.
Mother is pretty much ok now, but young male is all-day indoor nursing.
Oh, the hero of Monday morning was the nearby Ironing guy. He threw stones to drive off the dogs, without which I would probably have at least two less cats now
I have never liked the idea of indoor-only cats, but this place is getting more dangerous, and not only for small animals. And indoor cats requires a partner who is also a feliphile.
Boy has done little but sleep. Today is day three. He walked across the room, and peed in the cat litter tray
He is showing no enthusiasm for food or water but I am giving him a little water with a dropper. I am moderately confident that he will make a good recovery. Yesterday I wasn't. The vet says I worry too much!
Well, earlier in the day I was confident about my youngster. Now I am not. In fact I'm very worried. Back to vet tomorrow. I'm /hoping/ for another telling off for worrying too much. But... his state is not good.
Cat is, as people say here, admitted. At least overnight. He is much better in himself, but vet wants to further investigate this refusal to eat or drink, and think a bit more about whether or not to lance the fluid build up.
Oh... Yes, "Cat" has a name: Venki. Which is short for Vencat. Which is like Venkat, but not quite the same, because... he's a cat.
