If I could wear IEMs for any amount of time I'd copy you and get a ca solaris on top. But apparently I have babyman ears that hurt after an hour or two of things stuck in them no matter what.
Well, it's good for my bank account balance I guess.
@Taverius I hated IEMs until I discovered Comply tips, but sounds like you have a more significant physical incompatibility with them? Anyway, Andros turned out to be great for my bank account balance. They killed headphone GAS for me, or shunted it towards speakers where the value is way better.
Yeah having things in my ears for hours just makes them sore no matter what. Which is fun since I'm a blacksmith and have to use ear protection most of the day, and in-ear is just so convenient on a sweaty job I kinda have to.
Anyway, my expense on headphones doesn't come from GAS, but from being a hugemongous wood slut. Some people collect cars, or antiques, I collect wood headphones *le shrug*.
@Taverius I have the same problem but got custom ear plugs for concerts and I could leave those in for 8+ hours without noticing. Custom IEMs might be the only way to go for us.
@Taverius I think I took advantage of a Black Friday sale with ACS custom, but I’m pretty sure there are many companies that do it. Much more neutral attenuation than foam or those etymotic-style plugs. So great for concerts.
Nice - after going through a bunch of DAPs I think ZX300a (especially is utilizing the 4.4mm balanced out) is unbeatable at its price point and really offers the full package on sound, usability & build quality
