    It is very difficult. I had to stretch the elastic strip inwards with a pair of small pliars before it would give enough to fit under the clips.

    Best bet is to trim the inner plastics, it's too thick to fit in the holes.

    Sennheiser did have a guide to getting them on. I can't find the pic in my folders, but you put the pads on the headphone as much as you can & then place one side of the headphone w/earpads facing down on a desk & then you apply even pressure from the back.

    Just don't apply pressure to the thin metal parts from the back.

    One went on with only minor frustration, it took a serious amount of pressure against the desk to get the other on. Looks like the tolerances weren't great. I feel like I just smashed half the life out of them.

    My *theory* is that they are making these parts for the HD800S now, and maybe the design is only 99.9% compatible. That 0.1% with the pads causes grief.
