PS5 with disc for $500 or digital only for $400? Been ripping all my blurays to a server and streaming, but a disc player would be nice. Sep 16, 2020

@LetMeBeFrank Doubtful, & there appears to have been a mistake. Demon’s Souls is exclusive. Though the “human error” on that one could be a slip due to it really being a timed-exclusive.

The only reason Horizon was ported is because of the Death Stranding port. DS having used its engine. Work done there must have made it easier/cheaper to port. For the end of a generation to get PC players interested in PS5.

Maybe, but considering the ps5 is an AMD pc at it's core, and kb/mouse being almost universally supported, ports should be easier than ever.

PS4/XBO are just the same. The value of an exclusive to a manufacturer is first & foremost to get people to buy their platform. Xbox is a little different of course as it has ties to Windows. I think Phil Spencer has said that there will be more parity this gen. Their goals have shifted & are more forward looking. Windows/Gamepass/Xbox/xCloud are converging to 1 shared platform. With ongoing updates to Xbox hardware.

Are Ascend Sierra 1s still a good buy? Anything better in the sub$1000 range that also has a matching center channel?

Afraid the audience of owners or those who have heard them might be limited here, more of an avs forum or audioholics site type item. Wondering why you would want a center with them if listening primarily to music. Great smaller speaker I have heard is the Silverline Minuet under $1k. I did not want to junk up the other thread if center is a must.

I live in an apartment where my only listening spaces are my office and the living room. The living room setup is the home theater primarily so any new speakers need to have a center channel available for matching.

I'd like a better music experience via speakers, but I don't want to compromise the theater experience. Most of my critical listening for music is via headphones, but I'd like to sit on the couch and listen more often.

If you really need a watch, get a cheap Casio and accept your fate. Finding a better watch deal is almost impossible. The standard quartz G-Shock or AE-1200 would be my choice. Discrete and almost impossible to destroy.

Wild guess: It will smell like dust (via non-gaseous elements lighter than iron), vaguely smoky + stuff burning (lots of things that burn off in space + abundant carbon = smoke), and maybe of ozone or other gases in our upper atmosphere (b/c they probably got the data from space station/s, not deep space). Not expecting any nice, rich, or complex smells given relative lack of complex molecules in space.

A bit more treble energy and dynamic with the Theta. Been primarily using modded HD800s so a little too much for relaxed listening. But with my speakers (DIY Carmody S2000) incredible synergy. Really woke them up.

For my speakers, I am using an Adcom 5200 (maybe a touch warm), and for HP an ECP L2 (a little warm as well). The S2000s are a more forward and detailed Overnight Sensation if you are familiar. MMB is a v2. MMB might be a touch more detailed or clearer through the midrange. I really haven't developed a good ear or vocabulary to describe things well. I just notice macro differences.

I have an inexpensive one that can handle most of the weight, but the failure point is the joint at the back of the monitor. At this point, the slightest bump of the monitor will result in it swinging all the way down.

I believe the best way to truly help people and make positive change in the world is to remove the barriers to people helping themselves. As such, I am a founding partner of a low profit limited liability company (L3C) that helps aspiring entrepreneurs in low income neighborhoods start their businesses as well as redevelop real estate for their use. We are currently working with 6 entrepreneurs in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, with several more lined up for our next cohort. Our first property is currently under redevelopment and will house 3 of our entrepreneurs. A second property that will house the other 3 entrepreneurs should be ours within the next couple months.

Working with the City of Chicago, various community organizations, and a social impact lending institution, we have secured enough grants and loans to start our venture. However, the terms of the loans and grants don’t cover all the purchases we need to make. Things like computers, inventory systems, commercial kitchen equipment, etc. (basically anything that can be removed from the properties) are on us to acquire. As a result, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign to make sure our entrepreneurs have all the little things that they need to successfully open and keep open their doors. It is also a great way for the public to get to know our organization and the entrepreneurs that we help.

There is a lot more to the company that makes it unique that can adequately be described in this format, so if you are interested, you can visit our website at egwoode.com to learn a little bit more about the company and our entrepreneurs. Our crowdfunding campaign is here: https://www.bluefundrewards.com/projects/e-g-woode-a-crowdfunding-campaign/

And of course, if you have any questions about the company, the campaign, or about social impact investing in general, please send me a PM and I will be happy to chat with you.
