Turns out there is many sub genres of cd. It is a little bit of fun, just picked this one up to rip it and maybe hear a difference, music is great. Just wish I could unlock the digital files onto my storage

Huh, really? My understanding is it is like a regular CD in all ways except it was pressed using Blu-ray production equipment, ie more accurate lasers. If it can play in a regular player, don't know why it shouldn't rip. Try multiple drives and programs - dBPoweramp, EAC, Cueripper.

Thought so too, but it was unreadable on my dvd drive on my laptop. I might be able to try it on other devices, but it is unrecognizable on my laptop.

I considered a bluray slim drive, a few on ebay. I will update this with my progress and maybe make a thread into my cd format adventures

Just received a Asus bluray drive snipped off ebay. Bluspec is read flawlessly from the drive. Must be some coating on the bluespec that prevented my dvd drive from reading
