I have not explored AI chat at all. I'm not that interested in the phenomenon, other than a, "yeah... that's clever" basis, and I don't want my search results turned into an essay, because I don't want to be separated from the source of the information, nor do I want to rely on the machine to judge its quality.

It’s hard to hit a price point justified by that volume with an Ethernet port. The Brother QL-1110NWB is about the only show in town.

Had a docking station at work a while back where the power adapter plug fit perfectly in the cable lock hole. Thankfully no smoke or sparks.

Every effing time I go to plug my usb cable into my HP m402 printer, I plug it into the Ethernet port and wonder why nothing works. Every damn time.

Fact: my wife plugged USB A into her laptop's ethernet port. 'Fit's' may be an exaggeration, but it does go in.

@YMO I have older Audirvana and it can do UPnP so I think the studio ver will support it as well.

After wearing several other fedora hats, including some used Optimo models, I bought their traveling fedora and it has been worn for 3 seasons (save summer) for the last two years.

Did the M1 Air get the same HP amp that they've been putting in the M2 laptops and 14"/16" M1 MacBook Pros? They did a great job on my 2021 16" M1 MacBook. It's the best built-in jack I've ever heard. You can actually get a really good sound with an HD6xx straight out of the laptop jack with no additional HW, FWIW.

No, I believe they use different opamps, or maybe the macbook air is right off the Cirrus Logic chip. But the usb is far better than my windows pc with a gaming GPU.

Much bullshit and idiocy has happened because of theunthinking transference of "resolution" as digital-image terminology to difgital audio.

But this, I think remains true: in a digital image, showing increasingly close lines, how far down the scale can one still see separate lines? In digital audio, when there is a noise, of combined instruments for instance, can the component parts be detected?

I always thought "scaling" was simply a hardware thing: Does it bring out the benefit of better components elsewhere in the kit?

@jexby Goofy ISP implementation of CGNAT keeps a public address out of reach. Going to have to resort to some VPN trickery to make it work.

@Qildail Yeah, that’s why I thought they’d need some form of a TURN server, but they simply skipped that. Right now it works for me, but we’re getting FTTH probably next year, and as far as I saw I won’t have a public IP address then, at least not a IPv4 one. Personally, I know how to do such stuff and have servers I can use for a tunnel, but many don’t.
