I got RS2x incoming - review when I get it.

RS2x will undoubtedly be more resolving than Hemp if that’s a factor for you.

@Merrick When faced with similar products at close price points, I usually err on the side of the item higher up the product line. Not exactly scientific, but helps me avoid "shoulda coulda." :-)

Agreed, and Grado is especially good at giving you that bit more the money with each step up on the ladder.

I bet my right nut (which I already betted my left nut) that RS2X with F-Pads will be a great fit.

@YMO Are the F-Pads the standard pad, or something I have to buy and swap in?

RS2X comes with the Bowl (forget letter) Pads. F-Pads are the new stock pads for SR series and the Hemp. However, wait until @purr1n gets RS2X for testing.

However...I'm still willing to bet my right nut that RS2X would benefit with the F-Pads.

@YMO I don’t know which pads are on my SR80e, but they are comfortable enough for me. Pads aren’t too expensive, so I can experiment if needed.

Those are the older S-Pads. The New SR X series headphones started to have F-Pads by default.

@YMO They must have re-tuned the Prestige 'phones, 'cuz the thought of not having some foam between ears and drivers on my SR80e scares the poop out of me.

It looks like all the X series have been re-tuned.

A few general observations: A plush (e.g., leather) headband is a
necessity. Wood housings are a real step up. Wider-spaced mesh is somewhat helpful. Whatever you decide, I hope it works out for you.
