Quick question: I always wanted to play this game but I was afraid of the possible overwhelming micro management of my assets, same reason why I abandoned playing CIV and XCOM. So does this game has a lot of micro management to do?.

Not really. It's about on the same level as Dragon Age Origins from memory, maybe a bit more care necessary in combatant placement when walking into obvious traps, but it's a proper turn-based so the pacing is more Planescape: Torment.

Never played a Civ or XCom game but it's a bit like Disgaea if that's familiar to you, only not on a strict grid.

The assorted difficulty settings makes it pretty accessible, IMO, and the "classic" difficulty setting in the Classic edition is a fair challenge at the beginning with room for more or less punishment. The books and keys can be a bit messy but the inventory system cleans up well.

How about Darkest Dungeons? I also abandoned it for the annoying level of micro management.

I have no problem playing difficult games it's just annoyance to manage billion things just to play the god damn game.

Amazing game, played the classic first and then definitve. Took about 231 hours for those playthroughs. You get your moneys worth easily. Also a big fan of civ and xcom and if you like that sort of stuff but with giant mechs you should check out battletech. Play the campaign and then go for the mods. Roguetech is awesome!

@nishan99 I’m with you. I already micro manage dozens of things to get to the good bits, my life. I loved XCOM I and II, but the reboots are too much.

I actively avoid rougelikes because I get attached to characters and feel genuinely sad when they die, haha. that said I like the look of the new Darkest Dungeons with the cel shaded models, though the carriage travel is a bit... eh.

Frankly inventory is the biggest pain in the butt. Fights and exploration are pretty simple and oodles of fun.

Well the main char can't die but yeah the rest of the squad can... honestly this mod is pretty brutal and sometimes i reload if i lose a pilot or a mech needs to be rebuilt which is expensive.
