Did you end up finding a used one?
Yes, I found a used one from Japan. It's sitting next to me, but I'm taking it to Donald sometime this week (cross fingers) to get it converted to 120v. The Glenn is tiding me over verrrry nicely.
Which version of the Glenn? Lundahl? C3g inputs? Paralleled 6BL7 outputs? Goldpoint? So many choices, all of them envy-inducing!
The Glenn is 2x 6AS7, 6SN7 & 5U4G so it's pretty tame by Glenn standards. I've posted some pics over on the other forum to see if anyone can tell me. The previous owner barely knew what tubes it took. Sounds great though - crystal clear with SLAM.
Stratus & a Glenn? That could definitely be endgame, unobtainium for some. Sit back & enjoy!!
How does the Glenn compare to other OTL tube amps for you?
I can really only compare to the BHC (non-SB), my only other OTL. Relative to that, it's crystal clear across the spectrum, and slams much harder. The BHC reminds me more of the Kenzie - a romantic, analog, slightly smoothed-over sound while the Glenn has sharper transients, more dynamic, lots of slam. Still need to do some tube-rolling on the Glenn to hone it in.
