I found mine to settle down a little and flesh out after a hundred hours or so. I still switch back and forth between the Fosi and Elekit, and I agree, it's not better than the elekit, but it's also only $80.
I had one, could have been a prior version but same specs and looks the same, driving 2 pairs of Minimus 7's as my coffeeshop sound system for a while. I thought it was really good for the money but the acoustics there suck so I never really appreciated it much. We destroyed it somehow as we do with all things there.
@JK47 the v3 uses audiophool (relatively) fancy parts, socketed opamps, etc., and was developed/paid for through crowdfunding rather than Fosi outright paying for it. buy it on amazon and return it if you hate it. I'd love to read some comparisons to the Schiit G-horn.
I'm running some Sparkos SS3602's with the extra standoffs from some prior opamp dicking around. They tend to give some more space/sound a little less claustrophobic. Nothing huge, and definitely not worth the money if buying solely to be run in an $80 amp, but I had them around.
listening to Polyphia's Remember That You Will Die right now, which is mixed a bit thiccc and on some of these other cheapo chip amps can sound way thuddy, not so on the V3. Good enough to not be distracting.
Fitting the Sparkos in was a bit more annoying than I expected, but it really does a good job of cutting through the veil it had with the stock 5532s. This amp will be more than adequate for my living room setup!
