    Just got a new PC and this MB (MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk) somehow have a shitty'er optical output than my 6 years old Z270 MB. Disappointing because aggressive DPLL sound noticeably better.

    Haven't used optical for 20 years, and this may be totally off-topic anyway but...

    When it caused me problems it was because of a too-tight bend. Usually because I'd pushed something close up to the wall. Optical hates sharp corners.

    @Azimuth In my case it's the same everything except the new MB. My SMSL SU9 got 14 levels of DPLL and on my older MB I set it to MIN which is the most aggressive, new MB 9 DPLL is flawless.

    Also on window the optical out is named USB, I think this new MB does not send optical natively and it uses a USB device to do it? idk :/
