I play my own mp3’s (converted from flacs) using the built-in “music” app. I use itune on an iMac to sync files.

You can use Hiby music app and it offers an option that allows you to transfer music wirelessly. Earlier, inside iTunes, you could transfer files to 3rd party apps, which included being able to transfer music files like FLAC or WAV or MP3 over to 3rd party music apps that supported them. But I haven’t yet figured how to do that in the new iTunes.

thanks for the info, still deciding. Seems a bit more involved than drag and drop in Android and using UAPP.

"Does anyone play their own music files?"

    Doesn't everybody?

Doesn't =everybody= have a disc (or more) full of stuff they downloaded, digitised from their own vinyl or tapes, ripped from CD, bought in digital format, didn't-buy in digital format, got given, etc etc?
