I had a Drausk copper cable and liked it very much. It helped thicken and warm up the sound of my old HD 800 SDR and dealt with that last bit of treble peak (Yggdrasil A2 + Stratus). if anything, it warmed things up a bit too much for my taste: the soundstage became less diffuse.
Sorry, no experience with silver/copper mixture, if that's what your asking about.
Yeah, definitely asking about the silver/copper thing, because the Senn OEM cable is silver plated, and the AudiophileNinja cable I bought is pure copper and the difference is completely audible. The Norne Vygarde 2 is pretty and is a silver/copper cable. Just sanity checking myself before buying.
The Audiophile Ninja pure copper cable sounds like your Drausk copper description. I do enjoy it and it's a fine price but without the extra high frequencies I hear on the Senn silver/copper the sound lacks that last bit of technical performance.
I've had the Norne Vygarde and ran it with an HE6se v2. For me it ended up enhancing lows and highs a bit more - adding warmth, and making details sparkle just a bit more, but not overly so. Was a huge difference vs stock. You can email Trevor (owner) for any questions, he is very helpful and passionate about his products.
Maybe a bit late but I have had one of their copper cables (cloth wrapped - which it seems like they no longer offer for copper) for the Utopia for 2 years now. No problems with it so far, sounds pretty good.
I guess as I’m also curious as to why the hybrid cable is desired for the HD800? I would think, in a vacuum, that an all-copper cable would be a better match for that headphone?
