Not sure about OS mode on headphones though. Clear improvements in soundstage, macrodetail retrieval/contrast and separation, but somehow makes it obvious that I'm listening to headphones. I'd really like to find out how it might work with my speakers, seems like they'd benefit from it more

@Northwest Yeah it’s a fiber media converter. People started talking about them in the BF2 thread. Some have used them between network connected drives, some in a setup that includes streaming. A lot of Pi-based systems or other streamers it seems like, so far.

I'm still blown away by the 10Gtek. I don't stream music anymore, and all music is on usb drive connected to Pi2aes. The fiber negates the EMI from the previous ethernet cable connection to router, I don't know, it just works

Likewise, the source in the setup was a pi2aes with music on usb. It just has the clean-ness you get from a battery-powered setup like a DAP

As someone also using a pi2aes with music on usb but controlling Moode via wifi, would I benefit from adding this and going via ethernet instead? If you’ve compared the two

I'm just listening to my 10Gtek on headphones now, for which the Pi2AES is normally connected directly to the router. I can't say it's a night and day difference. It has more difference on my speakers, the streamer for which is behind two switches and 100 ft of ethernet cable.

If you want the BF2/64 to sound good in NOS mode, what you really need is HQPlayer
