Yeah, lets cut the intrigue here. :)

I was running them balanced. Switched back to the SE cable and everything snapped into place. This is with Comply tips and only when hooked up to the Jotunheim.

Shane mentioned the lightning to headphone adapter for the iPhone 7 has low OI, I wonder if it will pair well with the Spartans. The lightning connection is probably too noisy to sound good though.

Hmm interesting. I feel like sometimes the Jot with the UERMs gives it better technicalities, especially balanced, but the zx2 is much more musical. Merrick if you're still up for loaning me the Spartan in a week or so, I'll test it out with sources.
