This also extends to all the comments I read about Yggdrasil impressions at meets. There really is no point to bring Gungnir Multibit or Yggdrasil without a UPS keeping it powered up.

True of the Bifrost Multibit and Moby as well. Would expect the issue to be even more significant with the Gungnir Multibit due to its larger chassis. Yggdrasil must take days to stabilize, assuming that trend holds.

In the past three times I've warmed up Gungnir Multibit, it took a good solid 5 days before it was fully stabilized to my ears. I put Jot on top of it this time, trying to wedge in some of the physical heat, just to see if it helps. It really did sound like crap yesterday, but today I'm hearing magic with Jot.

Component stacking is the way to go with Schiit gear. Keep my Jot docked on the Bifrost Multibit at home. Every little bit helps! I expect that warm-up time would've been reduced if you had a Mjolnir powered up atop the Gungnir Multibit. ;)

From my meet experience, Yggdrasil takes a few hours in a stack to get decent tonality but the staging only comes with days of warm up. Bifrost Multibit gets the staging after only a few hours under something that runs hot.

I found with cold Yggdrasil it isn't even just that the staging is imprecise - it's precise but incorrect, things pan to actually the wrong place.

When you listen to a cold Gungnir Multibit not knowing it needs to warm up for days, you get real sad thinking you wasted all that money.

Haha. To me, cold Gungnir Multibit sounds like nearly every other DS dac I heard in the past. Dead, non-revealing, mushed up.
