Are they changing MK8? I saw a video blurb about it and seemed like they tweaked MK8 a bit w/r/t the battle mode.

With the right amp, it's a great all rounder. Haven't tried it balanced out Jodie, but the M3 wallops the SE output. And although it sounds better than one might expect from the Sonett, it's not a complimentary pairing.

don't agree. am always more eager/happy to return home to EC Uber 7 amp, even Office #2 with Vali2 provides better dimensional presentation of sound. at the expense of a bit of clarity and low end perhaps. maybe that makes me a Toob Fan.

Hm, I don't like the Andro much directly out of the DF Red. But the pico Power is shaping up to be a solid amp pairing. Despite the low OI, it keeps the bass in check. The iPhone is hard to top, though.

Ordered up a hybrid (silver/copper) cable from Unique Melody for use with the Martian. Solid build, reasonable price, and a modest bump in refinement and transparency. Diggin' it so far. Only drawback is that it's designed more for stationary use, so it's not as ergonomic as the stock cable. Not a prob, as it's fine to swap accordingly.

@zonto Agree regarding the comfort, it's a pleasant wear. Unfortunately, I also have to agree regarding its, ahem, deficiencies with classical music. I don't even listen to classical that often, but it's a mess.

@Huxleigh, yeah that's putting it delicately. I also hated how it took the edge of crappily recorded rock/alt. Speed and resolution were good though, I'll agree with you there too.

The silver lining is that it only took me a few days to realize I didn't want it and get it out of the apartment. Contrast that with my less-experienced self that held onto Grado HF2s for six years...
