I can loan you the Native Instruments Komplete 6 but I'm not sure if it's any better.
We could do loopbacks and compare which one is better (vs 2i2)
I saw BH photo has the Alva Nanoface for $79.99
Crap that looks a lot like the venerable RME babyface at a fraction of the cost!
Apparently, Alva makes the breakout cables and IIRC, some internal parts for the Babyface. Its probably not on the same level but you cant beat the price difference.
I found results on all 3 and all are inadequate. Its troublesome getting something decent. The Zoom UAC 2 looks like a candidate but is only accurate up to 60khz in terms of FR.
Getting spendy one can get the Forte or wait for EOY and see what QA turns up with their 405 analyser.
The QA405 will likely be a bit more pricey though. The zoom UAC 2 looks interesting though. Good price. 60 kHz is not too bad for most stuff.
I see what you mean, the Zoom UAC 2 ADC 118dB and DAC 120dB dynamic ranges are pretty good for the fice
Looks like QA has your ass covered this year http://www.quantasylum.com/content/Home/tabid/40/EntryId/36/QA405-and-QA401-Status.aspx
