The Benchmark HPA-4 played really well with my Andromeda. I've heard that the THX 789 isn't as silent though. I thought the Pocket Class A by XRK971 (with dedicated power supply) was very good also, but had too much gain for really sensitive IEM's - it was still dead quiet though.

The bass is overpowering and washes out the rest of the FR in smaller rooms on the RIVA Turbo X. This can be managed by the changing the surface you set it on, but it'll never be great.

I liked the Riva but I had that issue as well. Still my top choice. Willing to spend a bit because I don't have room even for a small bookshelf stereo system

Oh, by the way, check all the solder connections of the display module with a magnifying glass. Look for "dry solder joints" that can be simply resoldered. The tell-tale sign is a circle in the solder fillet surrounding the pin. Google "dry solder joint".

Real music lovers would actually purchase something like this, when they prefer listening too music and not the system. Convenient, durable and portable. It is made for outside usage, so inside it will be boomy. The Charge 3 is more balanced sounding and better value.

Curious why you left it originally? I avoid vinyl because I know it'll cater to my worst obsessive tendencies. Plus I have kids to feed.
