Audial S5

I'm looking for some owner feedback on the Audial S5, can anyone help please?

Just an update on this. I ordered a new S5 from Audial last night in black. The lead time is 30 days, so I will update with my listening impressions in due course.

 

My S5 arrived yesterday. It's lovely. Built like a tank. I need to find a good USB source for it though as it has no AES or SPDIF (Coax) inputs and the I2S input isn't plug and play with common sources. Thinking about the Holo Audio Red and using it as a streamer.

 

what source are you using now? What is that other input, BNC perhaps?

 

ATM I have just rigged up a Pi4 with Ropieee. It was feeding my Denafrips Ares II/Iris DDC, but Denafrips I2S and Audial I2S don't speak with each other so I can't use the DDC. The Pi4 USB feed on it's own just isn't good enough quality.

 

Yes, the other input is BNC.
