No, it doesn't. One British purveyor of much more moderate 'phool stuff did get prosecuted by the UK Trading Standards Authority for making cable claims with no feasible backup.

They don't get sued because most of the victims are deliriously happy. Let us not confuse such delirium with "subjective!" It's a small market and its buyers are mostly not complaining. And understaffed, overworked authorities have their hands full with foodstuffs than poison babies, restaurants with cockroach kitchen assistants, etc.

One might almost say that these customers get what they deserve.

So, do we say, they're happy, lets just walk away and leave them to their silly games? I say no: It all clears the way for the lower- (relatively) priced stuff. Audioquest etc etc etc, who bring all this to the mainstream.

And, as someone said about the hugely overpriced fuses making the relatively-less overpriced stuff look reasonable... Same thing applies to stupid. The really, really, really stupid stuff helps people to believe that stuff that is only really stupid is reasonable.
