I remember my last straw with headfi: the little plug-in plug. synergetic discharge, or some such superating-boil name. Someone took one apart, and found it to be filled with... sand. But we weren't allowed to call it crap. Or to call the company scamsters. Hope you'll understand... or just sod off: I chose to sod off.

Yep, THC is great at stopping you being able to hear subatomic particles screaming as they are bombarded by cosmic radiation.

If you ever need to hear subatomic particles screaming again, easy enough to just switch back to meth.

my take on that is, they do not sell the 28000 € fuse very often they have it in their portfolio in order to make people feel less guilty/stupid when they spend nearly 1000 € for a fuse.

 

Yeah the QSA stuff has almost made me feel like noping out of the hobby a couple of times, and I have a high tolerance for audiophoolery, generally. Watching guys on other forums who are into ORFAS stuff, sure ($8000 power supplies for music servers and such), but who at least usually would keep it in the realm of components or actual boxes now suddenly ZOMG'ing over QSA "treated" power cables and 5000 dollar fuses and making claims like the 5k fuse made a bigger sonic difference than a DAC change really felt like a caricature of the hobby.

The kicker is the QSA guy with the proprietary "quantum treatment" for this junk knows he has these ORFAS dudes by the balls and literally has followed a double down pricing scheme where the $5000 fuse became a moar better $10k fuse, which is now an even moar betterer $20k fuse, etc and at least enough of them are still eating it up to keep the grift going. This is not even mentioning their selling 20 cent RJ45 and ground lifer plugs, slapping "quantum" stickers and little jewels on them and selling them for thousands, or pulling shit like selling a Blue Jeans Cable ethernet cable they "treated" for $$$$ because the quantum "treatment" just so happens to sound better on non-expensive "regular" copper conductors per the QSA dude, when it's obvious it just makes the bill of materials that much less and thus the profit margins that much higher. Really revolting crap that you just have to laugh at or you'll cry.

I actually quite like boxes of dirt. But the secret is to convert the dirt to iron, hammer it down into layers, laminate the layers together, wind wires round the layers, and you have yourself a choke.

 

The fact that the people who sell this shit don't get sued for fraud right and left just proves the subjective nature of sound. There are always plenty of people to testify to the wonders.
