Actually had fun at Canjam yesterday. Wasn't really expecting to do much but hang out and not listen to alot of different things. Also mostly followed my buddies Eric and Mike, but came across friends like ,@Gazny, @tommytakis, @CEE TEE , @neogeosnk, @zach915m , @schiit and @netforce , along with some others who know who they are that made the show a fun experience. Conversations about the present and the future of the business and individuals always make these get togethers rewarding. (I think my animosity towards head fi has lessened a bit due to my absence in this space and also the combined animosity against a common enemy.)

But also, f**k you to certain ppl, because in the headphone space, like life, you have the bad with the good.

Didn't really listen to much since I yapped more as usual with these things. That said, I did love the Ferrum Oor system I heard at different tables. I thought it was okay with the ZMF Atrium, but I was wowed when it was paired with the Focal Utopia and the ZMF Caldera. Yes, even with the meet conditions.

I had a lot of fun. Running in the rain and headphones.

I think the sleeper headphone is the Grellphone.

From my listening impressions, it is a slightly warm but quite nice headphone. A lot of people dislike it, but from my perspective it might be his best work yet. If you heard it in NYCJ you heard a 1/10th of what it was at socal.

To me it sounds like a fixed hd800 all the way though. His choice of materials is superb and the price points floating around BAARRRRRRRRGIN.

Headphone inspired by true events and decades of experience.

Alot of people saying it's bright/sibilant which doesn't indicate a fixed HD800 (not saying I don't believe you). What could be the discrepancy between impressions you think?

Placement, Seal, and the associated equipment.
I wouldn't consider it a synergy thing but a convivence situation with the equipment.

Its easier to say it sucks, and move onto something else in a noisy environment (70db noise floor).
