I have tried almost every audiophile player on Google play store with the Zx2, in the end the stock player sounds best.

A couple of things that I learned that have made the Pono UI much more responsive for me:

Use a firm touch on the screen. Much more predictable results than a lighter touch.

Lock the screen in Portrait Mode. I don't have a problem getting the UI to respond as I intend.
(In Landscape Mode, I never knew how the UI was going to respond. That was very frustrating.)

I don't use mine as a true portable. I put it in my pants front pocket and enjoy it around the house. Mobility of wireless headphones without the drawbacks. I do love the way it sounds with HD6X0 (balanced only).

It is one of the best. I also like the jet audio app. Been a while though, I'd like to give it a proper listen again.

I find the other audiophile players on the ZX2 have a slight(it varies amongst players) smearing effect to the sound. Even for the all powerful Neutron player as well.

Plenue p1 is a great player but nowhere near the zx2 in terms of resolution. It has an organic sound but the DAC section suffers when compared to the Sony.

Anyone going to try out the hifiman supermini?

I tried searching through the forums for some Fiio X7 impressions on SBAF but couldn't really find much either.

As much as I'd hate to, I'll probably wait for some impressions on HF before I commit to anything. The added cost of having to buy a 2.5mm trrs to 3.5mm trrs adapter is a great de-motivator too.

All my stuff is 3.5mm trrs so I'd actually prefer it.

You could get a 3.5mm trrs pigtail for $8 and reterminate.

Hmm I wonder how it handles multi BA IEMs. Looks interesting though, Fang knows his stuff as far as DAPs go, I've just never been a fan of his boxy designs.

Like the idea. Read the blurb. So tired of manufacturers catering to buyers wanting power to drive big headphones. Just make a nice sounds, small, long battery life dap for iems only and let HP users get something else. After all, daps are for portable audio.

I couldn't find it with a cursory search anywhere, so to maybe help someone in the future:

I just got a 256gb micro sd card for my ZX2. I loaded about 220gb of flacs on - everything seems to work so far.

I have always wanted to own a totl Sony dap, so I couldn't resist and pulled the trigger on the 1A. It's was probably a pretty stupid move given this product is not yet released or reviewed. Screw it. This won't be the first time I've done something stupid in the name of audiophilia.

I mean i have a zx2 and itchung to upgrade to a wm1a......i dont need the streaming...but i think ill experience a bugger jump in sq by getting a totl iem like an ca andromeda. My 1964 v6s are great but i refuse to upgrade then to a6 because for almost $600 i get the same drivers with a just a new "apex" module(similar sq). Just wondering how much better that new s master in balanced sounds

Definitely upgrade your IEMS first. Zx2 is definitely one of the best portable daps. I miss mine a lot. Only daps I've heard that compare are the LPG (UI is archaic with no search function), and Cowon P1. I'd like to do a head to head comparison of the P1 and zx2, unfortunately I didn't own at the same time. The only major advantage of the Cowon is the power. Zx2 was barely acceptable for IEMS for me.

f'ing thief that stole mine, hope the cocksucker is enjoying it. Idiot probably thought it was a cell.

They didn't forget about IEM users. That's why they are kickstarting a new DAP called MegaMini. lOl. Dr. Fang Bian must've love the minions a lot.

It weirds me out when established companies use crowdfunding. Surely they could make this DAP without crowdfunding.
