Checking it out, looks pretty slick with good specs. Pricing is supposed to be $110 USD. One thing that bothers me is their naming schemes though, it makes no sense.

Do you have one of their DAPs to dock with it?

I'm not sure it really matters much if there is a line in...

    Yeah, that's a good point!

So I guess the question is how well it performs. If it keeps up with a Magni 2, then I suppose the extra docking feature is a free-bee. I like that it's <1 ohm.

I'm really curious how it will perform, too. Overall, Fiio's stuff sounds way better than it used to, having escaped the warm syrup and yet for the most part avoiding saber brightness as well. Cleaner than it use to.

I'm curious how solid the dock will be. I never had problems the short time I had the E07K/E09K but it was gimmicky how you had to match up the dac and amp. I preferred just to use a line out, because I wasn't leaving the E07K in all the time (its portable after all)

Hmmm, I wonder if this new one supports the e07k. It only seems to mention the e17k on the product page, but then I think the e07k has been discontinued by FIIO, so maybe they just left it out.

BTW, just out of curiosity, how did you like the E07K/E09K?

Kind of like a lot of Fiio's early stuff: affordable, fine and warm sounding. I was never really engaged, especially with that combo. I had used the E09K with other dacs in the past and enjoyed it more. It was a pretty good pairing with the line out from the Ipod Class 7th Gen. I also like the E09K more with the HD600 than the HD650. I do think that Fiio has upped its game with newer products.

I agree that I find it unlikely the E07K will fit the K5.

Nope, no FiiO DAP, though that would be an added bonus.
