FS: Rockna Wavedream XLR Edition (silver)

Catch and release. Great DAC, but have dialed in my preferences and know that "best" is not universal across ears.

Same great price I bought at and includes the fancy power cord which I didn't touch and therefore can't verify works. $4800 includes fully insured CONUS UPS shipping. Payment fees not included.

I'll take new pictures of it in my room but it comes as the same condition as the USAM listing I bought from linked above.

 

Funny when you're looking at the USAM page and it changes to SOLD right in front of you.

 

Which DAC did you replace this with?

 

It's more of the reverse. The question was what long term DAC was the Rockna trying to displace. I think a lot has to do with synergy and what my ears have got accustomed to in the last 5-6 years. I'd wager most who heard both would choose the Rockna but this wasn't a fair fight. I went into the comparison knowing that if the Wavedream didn't decisively KO the incumbent I wasn't likely to keep it.

I think the Wavedream is great and I'm offering it here to see if anyone wants it. Otherwise I'll keep it around for awhile longer but I'm sure I'll be keeping the other one for the long term. FWIW, it's not more expensive.

I think the OP is a bit confusing, I believe the USAM ad linked is the ad from which @Failed Engineer bought the DAC, not their own sale ad, ie the DAC is still for sale.
