It's not difficult tweaking the Studio to get a more classic tube amp sound. The reason this was not done is because the amp is named the Studio. Some people really like the Studio as is, and some people do not. For those who prefer a fuller, warmer, bassier presentation, there are several things can be done:
    1. The feedback from the tertiary winding can be removed all together, in effect making the transformer just like the latest Cinemag used in the BA. Snip two resistors and you are done. This will get you a more classic no feedback SET sound, complete with slightly flubby bass.
    2. The feedback can be reduced. Add a resistor in parallel to resistor to ground from the feedback loop.
    3. Remove the Tribute interstage and replace with Hammond 126B (costs about $85 each). This is in essence the 2A3 Mk IV.

I think 1 and 2 would make the studio the ideal amp for a lot of people. Combining the BA romance with the Studio resolution and clarity would be bonkers.
