I still need to hear the CAL! and Porta Pro, but the KSC-75 outresolves the MDR-V6 and HD280, which is absolutely hilarious to me. Probably outresolves the GS2000e as well, but we shall see.

Why not $2999, at least same price as Hek.

Grado would never be able to justify that price. It's well known that a vast majority of the current lineup uses the same drivers, they just have better matching on the higher-end models. To charge $3k, they'd need to include a back of cocaine or something, or to follow Grado's recent marketing gimmicks, they'd need to be made from a 500 year old tree that grew on Wall Street which J.P. Morgan pissed on or something.

I'm surprised they haven't actually sold a headphone with a bottle of whiskey/scotch/hooch yet. Include some parchment waxing poetic about music and fine drinks and days of yesteryear, describing in detail the ecstasy of sitting back in your recliner with Grado on head and bevvy-on-the-rocks in hand. Create the moment in their minds, let them chase and recreate, and the alcohol fueled hype train will surely follow.

Maybe save the cocaine for whatever the Beyer T1 owners are sniffing.

Ugh, don't remind me of that mistake. The Beyer T1 is the one audio thing that I legitimately regret. Worst Massdrop group buy I've been part of.

At least the T1 was built with modern techniques and driver technology - it's just an unfortunate tuning and qc.

If T1 owners need cocaine, then EL8 closed owners must be on meth..

They did make headphones out of a whiskey cask.

Nah, they gotta do what Linn did the other year, a turntable made out of the barrels that aged the whiskey that's part of the pairing. And you gotta use top-shelf stuff, so the owners can feel more pretentious. They make Carts, why couldn't they throw together a turntable that's really a new case on one of the shitty AT turntables?

This look pretty nice. I hope to hear them at RMAF. I like my RS2e headphones, so I'm hoping I like these. I don't have a lot of experience with the higher end grade stuff, so I'm looking forward to it.

As for the marketing text, come on. Sennheiser uses terms like "enhanced sound reproduction". "High-class matt black metal parts" ooo, high class! Trump would be pleased. "Natural hearing experience". Which is it? Natural or enhanced?

As for engineering? Well, if you are gonna read the marketing text, then at least read it. The last paragraph discusses the engineering that goes into these. Sure, not a lot of detail, but this is short data sheet page, not a paper. Many of these guys that make SennGrados or alternate cups for Grados will tell you that the wood used can make a significant difference in the sound.

"Some of the most pretentious, detestable horseshit I've ever read" really? You need to read more! There's way more detestable horseshit out there. Just read any political blog :)

I'm glad you like the RS2e and want everyone to love Grado to validate your purchase. I point you to a post by Tyll that sums it up best:

Given all the money I've pissed away on terrible John Grado products my expectations are low here.

Hm, I didn't know that painting China drivers purple instead of red is now considered engineering.
This platform really is great. I learn something new everyday!

If they could make a modern fit HP1000 - they would have us geeks forking money over.

I'd be first in line to get me some more classic Joe Grado sound. My SR-200s w/ HP1k drivers are shockingly good compared to a lot of modern headphones.

As far as Grados is concerned, I like the SR-60 given it's price, performance and durability. It's sort of a classic in some ways. U can tune it a bit with the myriad of pads available for this kinds of cans... But to my ears, I get a lot of what an SR-60 can do with an KSC75 ... Though perhaps less durable unless some elbow grease is applied on cables and frame. If you don't want to pimp no KSC75s and want something ready to go, them I would proly say SR-60s if that's your kind of sound.

I've heard a few other Grados. I don't care for them. IMO the changes between them and a lowly SR-60 are mostly cosmetic and the prices on the high end ones are unjustified.

If you like your RS2e cans, more power to you. But I cannot recommend any of the Grados cans, other than their entry level one, and that under certain conditions.

There are the HP1000 stuff. You may get close to that if you apply flat pads to entry level Grados. IMO the commercially available flat pads may be a little expensive for what they are actually. But they are still a fraction of the price of the "high-end" Grados.

I have nothing better to do since I am waiting at the airport.

I'm sorry, but the world doesn't revolve around you and your love for Grados. If you've bothered looking around, you will realize that I've taken unkind potshots at Sennheiser, mocking their 1/2 octave smoothed, vertically compressed, restricted frequency axis graphs for the HD800, calling the HD800 a face-tweeter, critiquing the HD700 as a piece of shit that could cause hearing damage.

I don't understand why Grado should given special-ed retard status deserving some from of affirmative action.

For the record, I like RS2 with taped bowl pads, the HF2, and the GS1000 (for jazz of classical only).

And you forgot to mention Grado's fantastic customer service (in a New York kind of way) with fast turn around times.

And to add to that, I don't WTH you want from us. I was going to text @OJneg to rewrite his first post in a very polite Englishman sort of way. Until I realized that would be even more impolite.

I know the English pride themselves on having manners and being polite, but shitting on someone's face and wiping the shit off with the finest silk brocade (pilfered from the Orient of course) is still someone shitting on someone's face.

The alternative would be not to shit on someone's face. But that would be constipation - impeding the free flow of ideas and opinions.

And yes, I'm voting for Trump, just to piss people off. And also to piss my wife off. Until I found out she will probably vote for Trump because for some reason, she doesn't trust Hillary.

I personally have suffered from both consipation and diarrhea, at irregular intervals. Both are not pretty bad. But in 2013 - thus far the worst year for me - I suffered a whole year of constipation, which resulted my losing 30 pounds. Luckily enough I have been over mild diarrhea for the past two years. Now I value mild diarrhea highly. It's been so good to be able to eat, think, and sleep without worrying about something impeding your biological freedom.
