IEM cables

I think it was buried in my wall of text but I did mention that my old $3 multimeter (it was an ad hoc purchase, haha) died and I've not bothered replacing it. I think my family ought have one lying around, but I'm not banking on it, and I'm kinda on the fence about buying one just to test cables out.

... That said, it would help greatly with future projects if I ever (finally) get around to building Pensil-style speakers.

Here's the Andromeda impedance profile. The extreme low across the bass would I think be consistent with your results if the cables have different resistances.

 

Aye, looking up crinacle's squiggles the differences basically mirror the selfsame phenomenon. Really wild how reactive certain IEMs are, and how much variation you can get across cables.

I tried playing around with EQ some to try and compensate but I still don't feel convinced that that's accounting for all of the perceived difference, but eh I've already made my quota of dumb things to worry about this year All I care about is that I do actually rather like the Andromedas, and not just as a consolation prize after my ears killing off three Solaris units to date.
