Interest Check - Vinyl Collection

Our family is planning on a possible move and we've been clearing out the house.

Long story short I came across my album collection that's been in storage for almost 30 years which I don't remember being as extensive at it is.

I guess mostly classic rock Rush, Who, Rainbow, Yes, Zappa, Kraftwerk, Focus, etc.

65+ albums.

The ones from my original collection were played on a Garrard GT-55 with Ortrofon Blue.

I have some others from a college radio station that went digital which may not be as in as nice shape.

I'll try to compose a list in the next week or so.

ebay prices are all over the place and everyone here has been nothing short of spectacular so I'd figure I'd offer them here first.

Not really sure if I want to price them individually or keep it 'make me an offer'.

From what you listed, I'm interested in Kraftwerk, Zappa, Rush, Yes, and The Who, but it depends on which albums you have and the prices. Working up a list is probably a good idea.

 

I'll fight @Merrick for the Zappa and Yes.

 

I have a few of my dad's Yes records but no Zappa.

 

I would also join a melee over the zappa albums, but let's first establish how many, and which zappa albums we are talking about.

 

I was wrong. I do have one Zappa album on vinyl: Waka/Jawaka.

And this is why I catalog my library, otherwise I'd buy shit I already owned over and over again.

 

I rebought too many albums and realized I had to catalog it to prevent it. Now I don't make that mistake as often.

 

Luckily I only ever rebought one album, Peter Gabriel IV (aka Security). It's such a good album that I gifted it to a friend.

 

My biggest problem is I'll pre-order vinyl from a band early and when the last call for the pre-order goes out, I accidentally buy it twice.

I've also thought I didn't have a copy of a certain album and bought it just to make sure, only to buy it again.

 

I rarely pre-order vinyl these days. Bowie was about the only one I'd do it for. Everyone else is too spotty for me to buy without hearing first.

I'm sending out free samples to two members with better tables to determine condition of vinyl. Once we get that info back I'll offer the rest up for sale since I haven't spun them in over 26 years.

I would like to give everyone a chance at their top 3 as per the order listed above. Once the list rolls around once you'll have the chance to pick up 3 more off the list again until there's nothing else you'd like and i'll ship the entire batch at once.

I have to purchase boxes to mail these out in and I won't accept any money until they're ready to ship. If there's say a list of 6 or 7 that you want photos or more details of I'll try to accommodate you before you make your picks.

I understand it might take several weeks to get the lists finalized but it's the best I can do to keep it fair and to keep it on a schedule that I can handle.

So once Ziva's picked his first 3 it will be Merricks turn, etc.

I'll pay for the boxes and packing you'll need to pay for actual shipping costs via the method you'd like them shipped/insured.

And I'd like to keep this Continental US.

Sorry if I upset anyone by these arrangements but I just want as many people as possible to participate as I understand there's a chance you won't have the same tastes in music as me and I want everyone to at least get an album or two or possibly more.
